Lost Your Job?
With the nation's economy in a slump, many workers are faced with unemployed.  The One-Stop understands that these are tough times and has compiled information and services links aimed at helping those who have been laid off, downsized or are out-of-work because their place of employment has closed.

Unemployment System Update

Ohio Department of Job and Family Services recently took steps to ensure the web site for unemployment claimants can handle the increased volume of the past few weeks.

Actions taken include:
Establishing a separate phone line (866-962-4064) for claimants who need help resetting their PIN numbers or passwords. This should reduce the volume of calls on 877-644-6562 (OHIO JOB), the line dedicated to filing claims.
Providing callers with realistic expectations for how long they will likely be on hold. Whenever the wait time is anticipated to be more than 20 minutes, callers will be urged to call back later in the week.
Having processing center staff backdate claims so claimants who have difficulty accessing the system are not negatively impact in their ability to collect benefits.
Also capacity has been added to the call system and staff brought in to help handle the increased filing volume.
